It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Janet, a truly remarkable soul whose presence graced our lives in ways words cannot capture. Janet Louise Jones, age 61, gained her angel wings on February 29, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at her home, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.
Janet was born on November 6, 1962 in Mankato to William and MaryJane (Kehoe) Larkin. She graduated from Mankato East High School. Soon after, she began working at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato. Throughout her 40 years with Mayo, Janet worked in various departments, ending with lead secretary with the scheduling department.
On July 20, 1996 Janet was united in marriage to Clennie “Tim” Jones. Tim and Janet spent over 27 years loving and supporting each other.
Janet enjoyed cheering for the Minnesota Vikings, having football Sunday with her family, bowling with Tim, then later watching Tim and Timmy bowl, traveling, and shopping, but the one thing Janet loved most was spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Tim, of Mankato; son, Timmy (fiancée Morgin Reed) Jones of Eagle lake; grandchildren, Haven and Kaiya; Tim’s daughter, Amy (Greg) Logan and their daughters, Tatyana Williams and Totyhesha Carpenter of Mississippi; sister, Mary Watters of Mankato, Nancy (Matt) Roberts of Burnsville, Pat Larkin of St. Paul, and Kathie (Dean) Foreman of Mankato; 7 nephews and 2 nieces.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jim Larkin; and son, Marcus Larkin.
Memorial service will be held at 5pm, Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary. Light refreshments and visitation will continue until 7pm. Livestreaming will be available at www.mankatomortuary.com
