Janice A. Holmgren

Janice A. (Schwantes) Holmgren, age 76, of Mankato, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Autumn Grace in Mankato.

Janice, the daughter of Otto and Doris (Oachs) Schwantes, was born on February 1, 1945 in Mankato. She lived on the family farm throughout her childhood. She graduated from Good Thunder High School. Janice married Donald Neegard and they later divorced. She then married Rodney Holmgren and together they resided in Mankato. Janice was known for her big smile and will be missed by all who knew her.

Janice is survived by two sons, Christopher and Jason Neegard; sister, Vickie Siirtola; brother Bill Schwantes; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rodney; siblings and their spouses, Shirley and Edward Bluhm, LaDonna and Arnold Brummund, Joann and Clifford Nelson; brother-in-law, Robert Siirtola; nephew, Mark Brummund; niece, Shelly Nelson.

Memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at the Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato with a prayer service at 4 p.m. A light luncheon will be served.

Private interment will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Good Thunder.
