Jason Richard Dobosenski

Jason Richard Dobosenski died unexpectedly, but peacefully in Mankato, Minnesota on September 12, 2020 at the age of 36.

Jason is survived by his father and step mother, Len and Lori Dobosenski and his mother and step father, Judy and David Greske and step father, Todd Bauers; his children, Nicole and Rebecca Wallace; brother, Tyler Dobosenski, St. Paul; sisters, Kelsey Bauers of SHAPE Military Base, Belgium, Christine (Joshua) Mettler and Katie Dobosenski Mankato, Minnesota; grandparents, Richard and Mary Ann Steward, Beaver Bay, MN; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Jason was preceded in death by grandparents, Pete and Harriet Dobosenski; god-father, John Lutzka; and aunts and uncles.

Jason was born on May 1, 1984 in Two Harbors, Minnesota. Jason was an intelligent child full of love and excitement. Everyone that met Jason felt his genuine warmth and compassion for people. Jason loved his family and friends. When he was 11 or 12 he ran out into the back yard to comfort a neighbor boy afraid of dogs. As an adult, he carried Narcan to help people in trouble. There wasn’t a sport Jason wasn’t interested in, he had a passion for world history and loved to talk about politics. He loved playing hockey and when he was doing well looked forward to playing recreationally. Jason struggled with mental illness leading him to a path of drug abuse and addiction. He took on family, friends, and worlds problems as his own. To dull his pain he turned to drugs which lead to a path of heroin addiction. Jason would want people to know his story and to talk openly about mental health and substance abuse issues.
