Jean D. Thompson

Jean D. Thompson, age 99, of Mankato, died April 11, 2024.

Funeral Service 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2024, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Mankato.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the church.  Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato.  Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Jean was born August 3, 1924, to Albert and Hazel Minnie (Keith) Schweppe in Webster City, Iowa.  

Jean was married to Lloyd Brecke and they later divorced.

Jean was united in marriage to Glenn H. Thompson on November 21, 1964, in Mankato.

Jean was a Vanda Beauty Cosmetics Counselor for over 55 years.

She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Order of the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed baking, bingo, lace net darning, and needlework.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Allen) Goetsch of Lake Alfred, Florida; three granddaughters, Alyson (Michael) Griffin of Ramsey, Melanie Goetsch of St. Paul, and Lindsey (Ryan) Bushland of Champlin; four great-grandchildren, Teddy and Joey, Taydem Jean and Dyan; and extended family.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn in 2007 and extended family.
