Jerome D. "Jerry" Hollingsworth

Jerome D. “Jerry” Hollingsworth, age 87, of Mankato, died on Monday, November 28, 2022 at his home.

Private family interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.

Jerome David, the son of Earl and Irene (Wendt) Hollingsworth, was born on January 28, 1935 in Mankato. He was united in marriage to Mary Janda on September 11, 1954 at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato. Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Army for 27 years in the 82^nd Airborne Division and 101^st Airborne Division. He served 2 tours in Vietnam, 1 tour in Turkey, 2 tours in Germany, and was stationed on many bases throughout the United States. In 1982, he retired from the U.S. Army and they moved to Minnesota. Jerry was a carpenter at Bethany Lutheran College for 19 years. He enjoyed carpentry, fishing, gambling at Mystic Lake, attending River Ridge Church, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Debbie (Ernie) Friesen, Kim (Danny) Brown, Jerry, Jr. (Deb) Hollingsworth, and Tim (Laury) Hollingsworth; seven grandchildren, Tim, David, Dottie, Jennifer, Jerry, Jerome II, and Serrina; 12 great grandchildren; his puppy, George; siblings, Karen (Neil) Lillo; sister in law, Carol Pavel; brother in law, Joe Janda; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Joanne and Beverly; and brother in law, Rich (Irma) Janda.
