John Edward Coxworth

John Edward Coxworth, age 70, of Mankato, passed away on August 31, 2022 in Mankato after a battle with cancer.

Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2022 at the Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. Private family interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.

John was born on March 27, 1952 to Kenneth and Pat (Marie Lavery) Coxworth in Blue Earth, MN. He attended school in Huntley, MN and later graduated from Granada-Huntley High. He married Julie Frandle on July 24, 1993. John worked all of his life in the Ag business as an Agronomist in the Guckeen – Blue Earth area for almost 40 years before retiring. John often joked that there wasn’t a piece of dirt in Southern Minnesota he didn’t step on at one time or another or a farmer he did not know.

John enjoyed go-carting with his children, the races, trapping, hunting, fishing, camping, and riding one of his many Harleys. John’s biggest joy was spending time with family, friends, farmers, neighbors and his 2 year old miniature schnauzer, Maggie, which he adored. In the last 20 years, John was active at the Minnesota Autism Center (MAC) in North Mankato due to his special bond with his granddaughter Halle.

John is survived by his wife, Julie Frandle of 29 years; children, Trever Coxworth, Jeremy (Tara) Coxworth, Nathan (Misty) Coxworth, Allison (Jake) Mastin, Zac (special friend, Chelsey Hledik) Coxworth, Jeremy (Kim) Walters, Brandon Walters; grandchildren and great granddaughters; brothers-in-law, Steve (Mary) Frandle, Mark Frandle, Gary (special friend, Patty Woodruff) Frandle, and Bruce (Karen) Frandle; sisters-in-law, Lori (Greg) Young and Danielle Mutch; special friends, Traci Wallin and Joe Mueller; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and great neighbors.

John loved all of his family and extended family in a special way as only he knew and would often say, “What a crew!”.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Carol Coxworth and Maureen (LeRoy) Springer.

A special thank you to Rochester Mayo and the Mankato Mayo Hospice Team for their attentive care and support.
