John F. Holsen

John F. Holsen, age 67, of Mankato, Minnesota, died, Wednesday, August 7, 2019, unexpectedly of natural causes, in his home in Mankato.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 11, 2019, at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N. Riverfront Drive, Mankato. Visitation will be one hour before service at the mortuary on Sunday. Family interment will be in Windom Memorial Gardens, Windom, Minnesota where he will be laid to rest with his wife.

John was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on April 18, 1952, to John I. and Shirley J. (Bergren) Holsen. John graduated from Luverne High School, Luverne, Minnesota in 1970. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Ihrke on October 26, 1985, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato. Mary died on May 16, 2006. John loved sports, especially the Twins, Vikings and Gophers. John was happiest playing Strat-O-Matic baseball while listening to his extensive music collection. He loved talking on the phone. He had a wide circle of friends in Mankato. His family and friends will miss him dearly.

John is survived by his twin sisters, Pam Holsen of Sioux Falls, Jennifer Holsen of Sioux Falls; brother, Reid (Jeanne) Holsen of Sioux Falls, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his wife, and his parents.
