John C. Soost

John C. Soost, age 77, of Nicollet, died on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at his home.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 7, 2022 at the Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. Visitation will be 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the funeral home and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Monday. John Charles, the son of John and Doryce (Boelke) Soost, was born on January 31, 1945 in Albert Lea. He graduated from Wells Easton High School in 1963. In 1975, he married Mary Beth Karnik. John retired after 40+ years as a parts and service manager at Kato Engineering. He was a former Tri County Fair Board Director. John was a jack-of-all-trades who enjoyed raising animals on his hobby farm. He also enjoyed all things motor sports, especially drag racing. But what made him the proudest was his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Beth; four sons, Jeremy (Amy) and their children, Shannon, Katelyn and Megan, Johnathan (Liz) and their children, Kyler and Asher, Justin (Julie), and Jared (Miranda) and their daughter, Emma; brothers, James and Jerald (Deb); nieces, Katie Smith and Jenny (Denny) Becker; and sister in law, Barb (Jay) Bruesch.

He was preceded in death by his parents and parents in law, Emil and Marie Karnik.
