John Charles Swanson, Sr.

John Charles Swanson, Sr., 74 of Madison Lake, died October 9, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus in Rochester.

Memorial service will be held 11a.m., Monday, October 14, 2019 at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N Riverfront Dr., in Mankato with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at All Saints Calvary Cemetery in Madison Lake.

John was born April 20, 1945 to Charles and Betty (Henry) Swanson in Mankato. He graduated from Mankato High School. He was united in marriage to Marlene Tarpy on October 16, 1965. John worked many years as a tool and die maker. In his free time, John enjoyed spending time in his wood shop.

John is survived by his children, Eric (Janelle) Swanson and John C. Jr. (Kristen) Swanson; grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan, Jayme, Logan, Justin, and Nicholas; and siblings, Lon, Nancy, and Chuck.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene in 2016; and siblings, Jimmy and Judy.
