John Wesley Brindley, Sr., age 81, of Good Thunder, died Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.
Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church, Mapleton. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at the church on Friday. Family interment will be in Barnard’s Valley View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. John Lutheran Church or the donor’s choice.
John was born September 2, 1937 to Herbert W. and Clara (Moriva) Brindley in Boscobel, WI. He graduated from Boscobel High School in 1956. John served his country with the U. S. Air Force as a medic and later with the National Air Guard. He married Janise A. Bogenschutz on August 7, 1976. John was an X-Ray technologist and later a pharmaceutical representative until his retirement. John was a member of the Good Thunder American Legion and St. John Lutheran Church, where he was a past Sunday school teacher and member of the choir, but was never allowed to sing by himself. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, woodworking, and he had the gift of gab.
John is survived by his wife, Janise; his three children, John (MaryJo) Brindley, II of Mankato, Kris (Mike) Robinson of Burnsville, and Jason (Andrea) Brindley of North Branch; 11 grandchildren, Hunter, Halle, Lori, Collin, Bree, Brooke, Brandon (Bekka), Ashlyn, Cameron, Lauryn, and Aydon; five great-grandchildren, Blake, Brayden, Brennen, June, and Evelyn; three nieces, and extended family. John was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Beverly, Grace, and Clarice.
