Judy A. (Miller) Lundgren Funk, age 78, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at her home in Mankato.
A 'come and go' gathering for friends and family will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 7. 2023 at Messiah Lutheran Church in North Mankato. A private graveside service will be held Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Memorials are preferred to Messiah Lutheran Church or to an organization of the donor’s choice.
Judy was born June 11, 1945, to Asa P. and Loretta (Nenow) Miller in Mankato. She attended Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Elementary School and Loyola High School.
On June 20, 1964, she married Gary L. Lundgren and was blessed with two children, Troy and Theresa. Gary passed away on October 8, 1995. On February 8, 1997, she married Albert “Ray” Funk and made their home in Mankato. Ray died May 31, 2021.
During her life, Judy worked as a waitress and was a homemaker for her family. Judy’s greatest attribute was her compassion for all animals and raising awareness of animal cruelty. She enjoyed 50’s and country music, ceramics, quilting, camping, and the car cruises with Ray and friends. With her continued love of canine and feline companions, Judy and “Rex” visited area care centers spreading joy.
Judy is lovingly survived by her children, Troy Lundgren and his wife, Holly of Galesburg, Illinois, Theresa Wilcox and her husband, Jeff of Bemidji; two grandchildren, Erin Lundgren and Logan Wilcox; many nieces, nephews, in-laws and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary; husband, Ray; six brothers, Ed, Dale, Robert, Jerome, Bernie and Richard “Porky” Miller.
