Katherine Renee Laven

Katherine Renee Laven, age 61, of Mankato, died April 10th 2022 at Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center.

Please join the family for a celebration of life service 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30th 2022 at Crossview Covenant Church (2000 Howard Drive West, North Mankato, Minnesota, 56003). There will be time to visit and share memories with the family one hour prior to the service and immediately following.

Katherine was born April 21st 1960 in Madelia to John and Marian (Winkelman) Seaberg. She grew up in the country between St. James and Madelia. She graduated from St. James High School and got her LPN license from Rasmussen College. She later returned to Rasmussen and got her business management and administration degree. Besides living in the Mankato area, she had lived in Alaska for 14 years. Katherine was united in marriage to Mitchell on March 26th 1993 in Las Vegas.

Nursing, taking care of others, creating stained glass art, making people smile and laugh, were her passions. She loved her animals, nature and participating in archery events. More than anything, Kathy loved her children, grandchildren, and friends. She was a social butterfly. Katherine would not want people to cry about her death, instead she would want us all to smile and laugh about all the amazing memories she shared with everyone.

Kathy is survived by husband, Mitch; daughter, Paige Laven (Lavell Owens); sons, Dustin (Theresa) Anderson and Chad Anderson; grandchildren, Essance, Taylor, Jozelynn, and Amelia; sister, Elizabeth Nixon; brother-in-law, John Barnes; and nieces, Christina, Samantha, Aris, and Marian. She was preceded in death by parents; twin brother, Gregg; sister, Rebecca; grandparents; aunts; uncles; and a nephew.

A special thank you to Carol Sandee and her late husband, Wayne, for taking on a "Grandparent" role for Katherine's children, even when they didn't need to.
