Kathleen Berniece Hahn, age 72, died surrounded by the loving care of family on Saturday, November 21, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Celebration of Kathleen’s Life will be held at 11am, Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato with visitation one hour prior. Graveside service will follow at 1:30pm at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Gaylord. Please share your favorite memory of Kathleen with her family online at www.mankatomortuary.com.
Kathleen was born in Gaylord, MN on January 18, 1948 to Harold and Berniece (Schultz) Bierstedt. Little did she know, her soulmate, Larry, would be born three days later in the same hospital and share a bassinet in the nursery. The pair graduated from Gaylord High School in 1966. While Larry was serving in the Navy, Kathleen furthered her education. When he returned, they were united in marriage on February 23, 1968 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Gaylord. While her children, David and Amanda, were younger, Kathleen worked part-time at Nelson Printing in St. Peter. She later retired from Taylor Corp.
Kathleen was a tiny woman with a large voice. She loved music and was active with the church choir at Hosanna Lutheran Church. When she wasn’t singing hymns at church, she was singing along to Kenny Rogers. Kathleen also loved flower gardening, socializing with her best friends in card club, and spending time with her family. She found joy in giving for others and enjoyed buying gifts for her grandchildren especially – they were the light of her life.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, David (Billie) Hahn and Amanda (Kenny) Fuller; grandchildren, Caleb Fuller, Lexi Fuller, Ava Hahn, Glory Fuller, Olivia Hahn, Ellah Fuller, Gretchen Hahn, Moriah Fuller, Harry James Fuller, Ruby Fuller, and Javan Fuller; sister, Joyce Black; brother-in-law, Allen (Ardis) Hahn; nieces and nephew, Jenny, Mike, and Angela; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry; and her parents-in-law, Ellsworth and Donna Hahn.
