Kathleen Ann Strachan, age 67 of Mankato, MN passed away peacefully at Avow Hospice, Naples, Florida on February 24, 2019 after losing a short battle with cancer.
Kathy was born June 19, 1951 in Worthington, MN to Leonard and Margaret (Goergen) Roetzel. She attended and graduated from St Adrian High School in Adrian, MN. She attended Mankato State University in Mankato, MN graduating with a Bachelor Of Science Degree. She attended Ohio State University of Columbus, OH with a Masters Of Science Degree.
She married Dr. Richard A. Strachan on August 6, 1977 in Adrian, MN. She and her husband owned Impact Services Co for many years where she worked throughout the Midwest. She also taught at the University in Mankato alongside her husband. She retired and volunteered for political campaigns. She was also very active in her condo association as their secretary/treasurer. She belonged to St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. She was an active grandma and loved her grandchildren to the moon and back. She kept in close contact with her siblings and all her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her children Terry Strachan of Abilene, TX, Leticia (Dylan) Crow of Mankato, MN, grandchildren Alan, Daniel, Richelle, Aries, and Karma, sisters Carole (Delbert) Honermann, Midge Block, brothers Frank (Jeanie) Roetzel, Ken Roetzel, and Ralph (Kathy) Roetzel, sisters-in-law Barb Roetzel, Pamela Strachan, Mary Knuff, Margaret (David) Siewert, Ann Marie (John) McArdle, brothers-in-law Charles (Tina) Lengyel, and James (Nancy) Lengyel.
She is preceded in death by her husband Richard, parents Leonard and Margaret Roetzel, mother-in-law and father- in law Frank and Norma Lee Lengyel, sister Clarice Lenz, brother Daryl Roetzel and brother-in-law Arnie Block.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato, MN with visitation one hour prior. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.
