Kimberly Ann Wegscheid

Kimberly Ann Wegscheid, 60, of Mankato, MN, passed away on October 11, 2023. Kimberly was born on March 25, 1963 at St. Ansgar Hospital in Moorhead, MN to Robert and Barbara Wegscheid.

Kimberly was a strong-willed person who had a generous heart, never hesitating to help others. This was apparent in her countless hours spent volunteering at the homeless shelter in Minneapolis where she prepared numerous meals. She continued to volunteer at Simon’s Ministry once she moved to the Mankato area. An avid love for animals was always demonstrated throughout her life, particularly dogs and horses. She found great joy in cooking (usually enough to feed an army), baking, canning, gardening, floating at the lake, campfires, and spending time with family and friends. Her granddaughter, Jalisa, held a very special place in her heart.

After graduating from Loyola High School, Kim attend the University of River Falls, Wisconsin and then South Central College – North Mankato where she acquired a paralegal degree. She had a successful career as a paralegal for 30 plus years working at both Leonard, Street and Deinard and Dewitt Law offices in the Twin Cities. Being a paralegal was fast-paced work and provided new challenges that she thrived on.

Kimberly is survived by her parents, Robert and Barbara Wegscheid; her son, Andre; granddaughter, Jalisa; sister, Karla (Michael) O’Gorman, their children, Aaron (Laura), Alexandra, Ashton, and Aricka (Sam) Tusha; and brother, Rob (Pam), and their children, Margaux, Cooper and Drake.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato, MN, 56001. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 12:30 p.m., lunch will follow with interment at Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, Benches (Blue Earth County Humane Society), or Simon’s Ministry.
