Kristopher "Kris" C. Miller, age 71 of Mapleton, passed away suddenly on Sunday February 4, 2024.
Funeral Mass is at 11:00am Friday, February 9, 2024 at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Mapleton. Visitation will be at the church from 4:00-7:00pm Thursday February 8, and an hour before Mass on Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be given to Maple River Loaves and Fishes Food Shelf or food shelf of donor's choice.
Kris was born April 29, 1952 to Charles and Anmarie Miller. He was united in marriage to Sandra Renkly on July 26, 1975 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato. They bought a farm outside Mapleton where they raised their four children. Kris worked for 30 years at Farmland Industries, and for the last 20 years at Javens Mechanical. He was a farmer, first working his parents' land, and then gardening his own. Family, friends, neighbors, and the food shelves all benefited from the vegetables of his labor. He was the first one to lend a helping hand to those in need.
He loved God and loved his family. He enjoyed going to Bible Study. The highlight of his week was going to lunch with Sandy. The grandkids were the apple of his eye. He loved pulling them in the wagon behind the lawn mower. And there was nothing that Papa couldn't fix. He was always there to help his children with their questions and problems.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 1/2 years, Sandy; children: Andrea, Kristina, Miranda (La'Mar) and Clinton (Whitney); grandchildren: Mar'Khi, Marielle, Marlee, and Kase; siblings: Sandra (John) Roberts, Wendell, Cory, Shelly McDonough, Rory (Janine), Nick (Kim), Rex, Jay (Danette), and Karyne; in-laws: Linda Miller, Bev (Don) Peterson, Helen Renkly, Chuck Murphy, and Greg (Anne) Renkly; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; parents-in-law: Oscar and Irene Renkly; grandchildren: Baby B, Mar'Shay, Gracelynn and Amenah Brinkley; brother Allen; sister Jackie; in-laws: Robert Evans, David and Dianne Cooper, Mary Miller, Judy Murphy, and John McDonough.
