Larry J. Bowen

Larry J. Bowen, age 80, of Mapleton, died on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Parkview Care Center in Wells.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 28 at 1:00 p.m. at Union Cemetery, Mapleton.  Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Larry was born on March 8, 1940 in rural Vernon Center to Joseph and Frances (Baker) Bowen.  He graduated from Minnesota Lake High School in 1959.  On July 28, 1968, Larry was united in marriage to Shirley Himebaugh in Adams, MN.  He farmed for many years between Minnesota Lake and Mapleton.  He worked various other jobs, most recently at Pioneer Snacks.  Larry liked old tractors and cars.  He was a past member of the Odd Fellows in Mapleton.

Larry is survived by his wife, Shirley of Mapleton; son, Joseph (Jenny) Bowen of Mapleton; grandson, Miles Bowen of Mapleton; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joan Erb; and cousins.
