Laverne Arnold Proehl, age 89 of Mapleton died Wednesday March 4, 2020 at the Mapleton Community Home.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday March 10, 2020 at St. John Lutheran Church in Mapleton. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be at Union Cemetery in Mapleton. Olson- Tichenor Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Laverne was born June 3, 1930 to Arthur and Elisie (Rackey) Proehl in rural Mapleton, Minnesota. He attended country school near Mapleton. Laverne helped his family around the farm. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mapleton. Laverne enjoyed music, playing the drums and fishing.

Laverne is survived by two sisters, Elnora Behnke of Mapleton and Lorraine Ford of New Ulm; nieces and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Caroline Wiebold.
