LaVonne Iverson, age 89, of Mankato, died on April 17, 2019 at New Perspective.
LaVonne Verdell Iverson Born July 2nd, 1929 in Seely Township (Faribault Co.) to Irving and Genevieve (Henderson) Leland. She was baptized and confirmed at the Bricelyn Lutheran Church at Bricelyn, MN. She graduated from Bricelyn High School in 1946 and the Johnson Beauty Academy in Mankato, MN in 1947. She owned and operated the De Luxe Beauty Salon at 411 South Front Street in Mankato until 1954. She married Emmet M. Iverson on July 17, 1949 at the Bricelyn Lutheran Church in Bricelyn. They lived in Mankato, MN until they moved to Hopkins in 1956. They lived in Hopkins for 18 years where she was active in church, teaching Sunday school and Bible school, ALCW - American Lutheran Church Women, circle, and various committees. She was on the school P.T.A. board and was a Den Mother for the boy scouts for 6 years. In 1974 they moved back to Mankato. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran church in Mankato where she belonged to A.L.C.W. the alter guild, taught Bible school and served on committees. She enjoyed the volunteer work, playing Bridge and having coffee parties.
LaVonne is survived by three children, Bruce of Shakopee, MN, Diane Giese (Roger) of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and David (Melissa) of New Prague, MN; four grandchildren, Daniel (with special friend, Patrice), Kristy Osburn (Jon), Austin (with special friend, Jordan), and Emma Iverson; one great-granddaughter, Evelyn Osburn; one brother, Gene Leland (LaVonne) of Kiester, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmet of 62 years; sister, Carolyn; and brother, Roger.

A Memorial Service will be held on May 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Minneopa Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
