Leo John Bernardy, age 87, of North Mankato passed away on April 22, 2022. Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m., on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior at the church as well. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Seaforth, MN. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Leo graduated from Seaforth High School, and then served for the National Guards. He married Marie Meschke on August 14, 1970 in Seaforth at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Leo farmed for 15 years which he really enjoyed. He also worked for Hubbard Milling for 25 years until retiring. Leo loved gardening, watching the Minnesota Twins, listening to polka music, and playing cards. He particularly loved being around family, and especially his grandchildren.

Leo is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marie; children, Ken (Wendy) Laughter, Edward (Lisa) Laughter, David Laughter, William Bernardy; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, LaVern Bernardy, LaVonne Theil, Doloris Meutzel, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, William and Theresa Bernardy; grandson, Scott Laughter; siblings, Don Bernardy, Ed Bernardy, Herb Bernardy, Nick Bernardy, Lewis Bernardy, and Lorraine Bernardy.
