Lester A. Albrecht

Lester Albrecht, age 92, of Mapleton, died on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at his home.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 18 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Mapleton.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment with military honors will be in Union Cemetery, Mapleton.  Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are preferred to Mayo Hospice and St. John Lutheran Church.

Lester was born on November 4, 1926 in Beauford Township to Rudolph and Selma Albrecht.  He served in the United States Army from 1954-1956 and returned home to farm after he was discharged.  Lester was united in marriage to Darlene Hansen on July 12, 1959 at Oakland Lutheran Church.  He loved farming and retired in 1991.  Lester enjoyed fishing, gardening, and the outdoors.  He loved spending time with family and friends.  Lester was a long time member of St. John Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed.   

Lester is survived by his wife, Darlene; four sons, Ronald, Larry, David, and Steven (Heather); 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, George (Kay) Albrecht; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; one grandson; and several other relatives.
