Lewellyn Lionel Wendt, 93 of Amboy, passed away June 22, 2019 at Ecumen Pathstone Living in Mankato.
Funeral service will be 11:00a.m, Thursday, June 27, 2019 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Vernon Center. Visitation will be from 5-8p.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Lake Crystal Mortuary, 648 South Main St., in Lake Crystal and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Vernon Center Cemetery.
Lewellyn was born October 3, 1925 to Arnold and Annie (Wilde) Wendt in Garden City, Minnesota. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1943. From 1946-1948, he served in the US Air Force. On May 5, 1956, he married Donna Chapman in Lake Wilson, Minnesota. Together they raised four children, Rhonda, Keith, Gary, and Jolene. Lewellyn was devoted to the family farm. In his free time, Lewellyn was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, playing softball on the church team, feeding the birds and kittens, watching the Twins and Wheel of Fortune. He was also a member of the Amboy - Good Thunder School Board from 1980-1982.
Lewellyn is survived by his children, Rhonda Dillemuth of Marion, Iowa, Keith Wendt of Lake Crystal, Gary (Diane) Wendt of Northfield, Minnesota, and Jolene (Chris) Deilke of St. Paul, Minnesota; grandchildren, Austin and Kendra Wendt and Keegan and Brielle Deilke; and sisters-in-law, Judy Onken and Phyllis Bloemendaal.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna in 2012; infant granddaughter, Lauren Deilke; siblings, Marlyn and Eileen; and his in-laws.
