Linda K. Johnson

Linda K. Johnson, 74 died Monday, July 15, 2024 at her home in Mankato, MN. 

Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Hosanna Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the church. Northview-North Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Linda Kay (Cooper) Johnson was born on July 18, 1949 to Robert and LuVerna (Schwanke) in Mankato, MN. She graduated from Wilson High School in Mankato. On July 24, 1971 she married Dennis Johnson of Lewisville, MN. They made their home on the farm outside of Lewisville until their recent move to Mankato, MN in December of 2023. They had three children. Linda was very active in her church with Sunday School and Ladies Aid. She also helped out as a leader in the local 4H club and spent many birthdays or anniversaries at the Watonwan County Fair.

Linda was a very talented person with her gift of knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and counted cross stitching. Many friends and family were gifted by her talents with wedding samplers or afghans that she worked on lovingly. Many babies were gifted with embroidered or knitted baby blankets as well. In the most recent years Linda gifted loved ones with dish clothes and kitchen towels. Linda also enjoyed spending time with her extended family and friends. One of her favorite memories was traveling to Oregon to meet her cousins on the Cooper side of the family for the first time. She also enjoyed spending time with the many family pets while reading her books.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Neal Cooper. She is survived by her husband, Dennis; three children and their families, Dawn (Dave) Slocum Mankato, MN, grandchildren, Mac (Adri) Slocum and Ender Slocum, Doyle (Rachel) Johnson Hartford, SD, grandchildren, Cameron and Megan Johnson, Marsha (Todd) Van Laere Northwood, ND, grand dogs Jake and Belle.
