Lois J. Hoechst, age 78, of Mankato, died on October 9, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Hosanna Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at East Lutheran Cemetery, rural Delavan. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The service will be livestreamed from https://hosannamain.online.church. Lois was born on September 27, 1943 in Mankato, MN to Lester and Violet (Schnoor) Pieper. She graduated from Minnesota Lake High School in 1961. On September 12, 1964, Lois was united in marriage to Dean Hoechst at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in rural Minnesota Lake. Lois worked for Kato Engineering and MET in Winnebago. She also helped Dean with farming. Lois volunteered her time at MRCI. Lois and Dean wintered for many years in Mesa, AZ. She enjoyed playing bridge and cooking and entertaining. She loved time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Lois is survived by her husband, Dean of Mankato; daughter, Dawn (John) Hengel of Minnesota Lake; son, Chad (Shannon) Hoechst of Minnesota Lake; grandchildren, Erica (Logan) Manska, Josh Hengel, Breckin Hoechst, and Delaney Hoechst; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Rauenhorst and Diane Sharits; brothers-in-law, Dale (Linda) Hoechst and Duane Hoechst; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jim Pieper; sister-in-law, Deanna Hoechst; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Palmer and Bernita Hoechst.
