Lorna M. Adams, age 92, of Mankato, died on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at New Perspective. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 22 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Danville Township.  Visitation will be Sunday, July 21 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary.  Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Minnesota Lake.  Memorials are preferred to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Danville or the American Cancer Society-Susan B. Koman Breast Cancer Fund.

Lorna was born on June 27, 1927 in Pemberton, MN to George and Marie (Wiese) Oldenburg.  She was baptized on July 31, 1927 in Webster, MN and Confirmed on April 6, 1941 in St. Clair, MN.  Lorna graduated from Pemberton High School in 1945.  She was a graduate of the Naeve Hospital Nursing Program in 1948.  On December 14, 1952, Lorna was united in marriage to Donald Adams in Mapleton.  Lorna was an RN at Gillette Children’s Hospital in St. Paul, the Red Cross during the polio epidemic, Kinney Institute in Minneapolis, and Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato.  She was a long-time employee of the Mapleton Community Home.  Lorna raised eight children while working as an RN.  Lorna enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and crafts.  She loved hosting family gatherings. Lorna was a mother to many.

Lorna was survived by her children, Chris Ziemke of Waseca, Nick Adams of Mapleton, Bob (Karma) Adams of St. Clair, Wendy Adams of Richfield, Betsy Adams of Richfield, Matt (Lisa) Adams of Mankato, and Jenny Adams of Minnesota Lake; son-in-law, Gerry Cardinal of Hastings; grandchildren, Amanda, Adam and Allie Ziemke, Craig Cardinal (Eva Reinicke), Cary Cardinal (Jackie Zimski), Casey Cardinal (Shane Morris), Jeremiah Adams (Kelly Jaeger), Andrea (Rich) Cummins, Molly (Will) Hoosline, Sam Adams, Zac Adams, Stephanie (Tony) Bracken, and Jade Adams; many great-grandchildren; sister, Barb (Bob) Anderson; and sister-in-law, Peggy Adams.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; daughter, Julie Cardinal; granddaughter, Gretchen Adams; brother, Robert Oldenburg; sister, Eileen (Bud) Bittner; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jean and Fred Wiemann, Francis and Ann Adams, Leon and Margaret Adams, Lorraine and Donal Murphy, Eileen Adams, Larry Adams, Dorothy and Tom Wyatt, and Robert Adams.
