Lucille Elizabeth Doss

Lucille Elizabeth Doss, age 96, of Mankato, MN died peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am, Saturday, March 30, 2019, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Please share a memory of Lucille with her family at www.mankatomortuary.com.

Lucille Elizabeth Doss was born in Waseca County to Dennis and Gertrude (Kaiser) Glynn. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Waseca, MN in 1940. After graduation, she attended the College of Saint Teresa in Winona for two years and Mankato Commercial College. She was employed at the Farmers National Bank in Waseca until her marriage to Allen Wilbert Doss on April 5, 1945, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. She and Allen farmed near Pemberton, MN, before moving to Mankato in 1981. While on the farm, she worked at the Owen Oil and Gas Company, and Hofman Services in Pemberton as their office manager, receptionist, and bookkeeper.

Lucille’s faith was important to her as were her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, watching sports, fishing, and traveling. She toured 48 states and spent 10 winters in Tucson, AZ.

Lucille is survived by a son, Larry (Cheryle) Doss; daughter, Deborah (Todd) Nelson; five grandchildren, Jessica (Nick), Cynthia, Jeffrey, Kelly, and Jennifer (Tyson); six great-grandchildren, Bailey, Hunter, Sydney, Erin, Sarah, and Noah; two sisters, Helen Hoehn and Jeanne Schissel; sister-in-law, Lorraine Glynn; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Allen, of 68 years; two sisters, Catherine Glynn and Geraldine (Ray) Brooks;  two brothers, Father Francis Glynn and Leo Glynn; and brothers-in-law, Linus Hoehn and Dave Schissel.
