Marcella "Sally" Ulman

Marcella “Sally” Emile Ulman passed away on Wednesday August 21, 2024, at Mayo-Rochester. Sally was born August 10, 1925 in Old Mapleton to August and Anna (Denn) Kunz.

Services for Sally will be at 11:00 am Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Northview Mortuary.

Visitation will be held one hour prior. Burial will follow at Decoria Cemetery in Mankato, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Visiting Angels or any other Home Health Care Agency.

Marcella grew up on August and Anna (Denn) Kunz’ farm in Mapleton, MN. She moved to the Mankato farm when she married Russell Ulman (divorced). She was blessed to live and garden on the Ulman farm until she passed.

Sally’s number one joy in life was to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Sally loved to cook and bake for family and friends, and enjoyed time spent in the vegetable and flower gardens.

Sally worked at various cleaning positions including Mankato Hospital and private homes. Sally also enjoyed her years of work in the bakery at Madsen Grocery and as a kitchen aide at Oaklawn Rest Home.

She is survived by her children, Glen Ulman of Mankato, Diane (Kevin) Connolly of Le Center, Darrell Ulman of Waseca, Mark (Mary) Ulman of Owatonna, and Bruce (Kimberly) Ulman of Mankato. Grandchildren: David (Brittnee) Connolly, Rebecca (Ryan) Anderson, Adam Ulman, Sarah Ulman and Ashley Ulman; great-grandchildren Kelton, Coen, Hendrix, Isla (Anderson). Sister Viola (Tootsie) Johnson, brother Kenneth (Ken) Kunz and Sister-in law Bea (Roland) Kunz. And many nieces and nephews.

Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, August and Anna (Denn) Kunz; and siblings Leonard Kunz, Rosalia Krengel, Mildred Gerholz, Dorothy Bohlke, and Roland Kunz.
