Marcelyn was born June 29, 1933, to Floyd W. and Ruth C. (Wigley) Baustian at her grandparents’ home.  She grew up in Judson, MN on a farm, attending a one-room school house and was involved with 4-H  and showing cattle.  She played tuba with the Lake Crystal High School marching band and graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1951.

Marcelyn was united in marriage to Melvin R. Campbell on February 15, 1952. Melvin died  on their anniversary, February 15, 1994. They were married for 42 years, having 4 children.  Marcelyn assisted Melvin as his secretary, selling insurance for Farmers Insurance Group, and helped on the family farm.  She and Melvin were involved at the Lake Crystal nursing home for over 20 years in caring for the residents and provided a service every Sunday morning.

Marcelyn was over a 60 year member of the First Baptist Church, where she served as Deaconess, AWANA, and on other various committees.  She played piano and organ for the First Baptist Church, and at nursing homes, funerals, and weddings.  She helped with the Grace Thrift Store in Lake Crystal, a faithful member of the Neighborhood Club, involved with Gideons, enjoyed freezing corn every summer, shopping at the Mankato Mall, playing piano, and in later years playing an avid and fiery Rummikub player. She also enjoyed attending the Welsh Sing – Gmanfu Gnau every year.

Marcelyn married Ronald D. Pedersen in 2007.  Ron died on October 23, 2023.  In their 16 years of marriage they were able to do much traveling together and attended many Southern Gospel concerts.

Since the day she got married in 1952, she has always lived on County Road #6 in Lake Crystal (on 4 different farms!)

Marcelyn is survived by her four children, Paul (Debbie) Campbell, Ralph (Tammy) Campbell, Jon (Lorri) Campbell, Melanie (Gary) Lefebvre; nine grandchildren, Steve (Jessi), Mike (Leann), Lisa, Stacey (Ben), Ben (Sonja), Heidi, Joshua, Caleb, and Jeremiah; twelve great-grandchildren, Maeve, Ambrielle, Chaylin, Brexlyn, Megan, Lauren, Jacob, Henry, Isabelle, Gary George, Claire, and Jakob; and extended family.
