Marie Eileen Bernardy

Marie Eileen Bernardy, age 88, of North Mankato passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023.

Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m., on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior at the church as well. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marie was born on April 10, 1935, to Alvin and Esther Meschke in Norwood Park, Illinois. She attended St. Techla Elementary School and graduated from St. Patrick’s Catholic Girls High School. Marie married Leo Bernardy on August 14, 1970, in Seaforth, MN at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Marie enjoyed doing crafts, going out to lunch with friends, watching the Minnesota Twins, sewing, canning, and gardening.

Marie is survived by her children, Ken (Wendy) Laughter, Edward (Lisa) Laughter, David Laughter, and William Bernardy; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and sister, Norine (Mark) Dupree.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; parents, Alvin and Esther Meschke; grandson, Scott Laughter, and brother, Alvin Meschke Jr.
