Marilyn Anita Pederson, age 89, of Mankato died Friday, March 12, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Health System – Mankato with her family by her side.
A Celebration of Marilyn’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Hosanna Lutheran Church, 105 Hosanna Drive, Mankato with visitation one hour prior. A private family interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Please share a memory of Marilyn online at www.mankatomortuary.com.

Marilyn was born January 29, 1932, to Paul and Adelaide (Mohrbacher) Schneider in Carver County, Minnesota. She grew up in Cologne, MN and attended school at St. Bernard Catholic School. She was united in marriage to Henry (Hank) Pederson on April 16, 1955.
Marilyn and her husband, Hank, owned and operated many businesses during her lifetime. They owned a Bar/Liquor Store with Hank's brother, Bernie, a mobile home park, a construction company and apartment complexes. She worked hand-in-hand with him and was an integral part of their success. They owned many lake cabins throughout Minnesota and where they enjoyed most summer weekends.
At home, she was an excellent cook and homemaker for their four children and always had a hot meal prepared for them. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader and loved scouring for treasures at thrift stores and estate sales.
Marilyn is survived by her four children, Sharman (David) Rigdon of Good Thunder, Denise (Mark) Kiecker of Mankato, Wendy (Brian) Schultz of Mankato, and Bruce (Wendy) Pederson of North Mankato; five grandchildren, Jake (Crystal) Rigdon, Jenna (Lee) Noland, Benjamin (Kailey Yurek) Kiecker, Daniel Kiecker, and Cooper Pederson; two great-grandchildren, Levi and Audrey Noland; four siblings, Neil (Marilyn) Schneider, Dallas (Faye) Schneider, Dale Schneider, and Daniel (Joyce) Schneider; sister-in-law, Betty Schneider; brother-in-law, Don Schuster; and nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry in 1991; brothers, Roal Schneider and Gerald Schneider; sister, Shirley Schuster; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Schneider.
