Mark L. Miller, age 73, of Mankato, died Saturday, February 1, 2025, at his home.
Memorial Service 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Centenary United Methodist Church, Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday, February 7, at Centenary United Methodist Church and will continue one hour before the service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mankato East Booster Club or the donor’s choice.
Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Mark was born March 21, 1951, to Benton D. and M. Rosalie (Shafer) Miller in Athens, Ohio. He graduated from Athens High School in 1969 and then attended Ohio University and the Mayo Clinic School of Physical Therapy; simultaneously graduating in 1974. He received his Masters of Science degree from Illinois State University in 1981.
Mark was united in marriage to Mary E. Versaevel on April 26, 1975, in Marshall, Minnesota.
Mark was employed by St. Mary’s Hospital, Streator, IL from 1976 -1989. He then began his employment as manager of the Back Care Center at OFC until his retirement in 2015.
Mark also enjoyed being a certified athletic trainer, volunteering for Streator High School and Mankato East High School from 1976-2016. He was inducted into the Mankato East Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004. Mark was a certified track and field official, he enjoyed wood working and creating decorative pieces, and was a member of the King Midget Car Club.
Mark is survived by his wife, Mary; three children, Ben (Julie) Miller of St. Charles, MO, Eric (Vicki) Miller and Gretchen (Kyle) Nelson all of Mankato; seven grandchildren, Zach and Cassie Miller, Parker and Spencer Miller, Conner, Liam, and Kaleb Nelson; three siblings, Benna Riebel, Lyn (Don) Brown, and Russ (Jean) Miller all of Ohio; special cousin, Patty Nichols of Kentucky; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ken (Sue) Versaevel of Marshall, Leon (Vicki) Versaevel of Marshall, Eileen (Bruce) Furhmann of Marshall, Delores (Al) Fricke of Worthington, Tom (Shelly) Versaevel of Marshall, and Joe (Karen) Versaevel of Marshall; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Ken Riebel; and Larry Nichols.
