Marlan “Butch” Pitts, age 82, of Judson, died on March 31, 2020 at his home.
A private family graveside service will be held at Cambria Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
Marlan was born on May 20, 1937 in Madelia to Herman and Gretchen (Hill) Pitts. He attended school in Madelia and Rochester. On July 11, 1970, Marlan was united in marriage to Janet Thomas at the Cambria Presbyterian Church. Butch worked for Schuldt Printing in Mankato and then Kato Engineering for 28 years before retiring. Butch enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling. He was a longtime member of the Cambria Presbyterian Church.
Butch is survived by his wife, Janet of Judson; children, Rick (Janelle) Pitts of Rapidan, Jessica Pitts of Judson, Corey Tuma and special friend, Holly of Garden City, and Derek Peterson of Mankato; grandchildren, Sydney, Caleb, Thomas, and Evelyn Pitts; two sisters, DeMaris Frederickson of River Falls, WI and Ngaire Simpson of Hastings; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant sons; three brothers, Maynard, Louis, and Daryl; and two sisters, Ardella Bell and Sharon Pierce.
