Marlene was born May 31, 1950 in Mankato, MN to Orville and Marion (Manning) Fredricks. She attended Mankato High School and graduated in 1968.

Marlene was a hard worker. She started her career as an Operator at Mankato Citizens Telephone Company and retired in April 2019 after putting in more than 50 years of service. She worked part time at many other places around Mankato throughout her life, a favorite being Spinners Bar where she met many people and made life-long friendships. She also enjoyed working at the Verizon Civic Center. Marlene loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed antiquing, garage saleing, and gardening. She liked playing pool and enjoyed seeing her friends on league night. She loved going to Raceway Park and cheering on her grandson, Josh. Holidays for Marlene were a favorite. At Christmas, it wasn't a tree full of presents, it was an entire room full of gifts. Marlene was a true giver. Any time one of her family or friends had a problem, she would be right there with advice or an ear to listen. Her great-nieces and nephews will especially miss their Aunt Molly and her silliness and willingness to always have fun with them. Marlene loved Harleys and was a past member of A.B.A.T.E. She spent many years going to motorcycle rallies with her friends. Marlene was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato.

Marlene is survived by her daughter, Erin Fredricks (special friend, Anthony Crandell); grandson, Joshua Vieau; brother, Jerry Fredricks (special friend, Ava Clark); sister, Mary (Steve) Volk; nieces, Lori Sotebeer (special friend, Troy Cornelius), Stephanie Volk-Warning (Butch Warning), and Amanda (Kevin) Franke; great-nieces and great-nephews, Kayla, Emma, Layla, Cash, and Jeremiah; step-grandchildren, Brittany and Lindsey Arnold, Rachelle, Caitlin and Tanner Crandell; her dog, Bella; and her cat, Mr. Lynx. She is also survived by many close friends and family whose friendships she cherished.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Shirley Fredricks; and many family and friends.

The family would like to thank the volunteers and staff at Mayo Clinic Hospice for their loving care and compassion in Marlene’s final days. They would also like to thank Pastors Joseph Naumann and Neal Radichel at Immanuel Lutheran Church for their thoughts, prayers, and musical talents enjoyed by the Marlene and her entire family.
