Mary E. Doyle, age 97, died Sunday, November 5, 2023, at her home at Parker Oaks Senior Living, Winnebago, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato, MN with visitation one hour before the service. Interment will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the MN State Services for the Blind or the United Hospital District Hospice.
Northview – North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Mary was born July 20, 1926, in Guilford, MO, the daughter of Nealy and Ludia (Clemmons) Banks. She graduated from high school and worked in Kansas City where she met the love of her life, Thomas “Doc” Doyle. They were married on July 1, 1953, in Easton, MN. They moved to Good Thunder where they raised their five children. Mary and “Doc” spent 50 plus years in Good Thunder, where they cared for farm animals and countless pets. During her years in Good Thunder Mary was involved in St. Joseph’s Church Women and the Good Thunder Mother’s Club. After Doc’s passing in 2016 Mary continued to live in Mankato until her move, in 2021, to Parker Oaks Senior Living in Winnebago, MN.
Mary is survived by children, Pam Kunz of Eagle Lake, Guy (Renee) Doyle of North Mankato, Kevin (Bea) Doyle of Mankato, Kelly Doyle of Columbia Heights, and Laurie Jongbloedt of Mankato; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Schmid and Anne Doyle; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Doyle; brother and his wife, Bill and Elsie Banks; son-in-law, Tom Jongbloedt; brothers-in-law, Jack Doyle, Jim Doyle and his wife, Wanda and Jim Schmid; sister-in-law, Nan Doyle Herman; nephews, Kenny Banks and Kip Goodrich; niece, Brenna Doyle Davis.
The family would also like to thank the aids and nurses at Parker Oaks Senior Living as well as those at the United Hospital District Hospice for the kind and compassionate care they gave Mom, especially over the last few months. She loved you all.
