Mary Frances, the youngest of eight children born to Louis and Alma (Zamzow) Juberian, was born on October 27, 1937 in Mankato. She graduated from Good Counsel Academy in 1955. On January 5, 1957, she married Jim Kelly at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. Together they formed their family of eight children before Jim passed away in 1978. Mary was the moral compass of her family. She was a member and past president of the Holy Rosary Council of Catholic Women and served as the Holy Rosary funeral chairwoman for over 40 years.
Mary enjoyed serving meals to her large family, baking her famous cinnamon rolls, playing slots at the casino, and connecting with God through her garden. Family reunions for North Mankato Fun Days were a highlight every July. Her vocation in life was being a mother and homemaker. She lived out her calling to the fullest.
Mary is survived by her eight children, Karen (Doug) Hemler of Golden, CO, JoAnn (Mike) Hageman of Lawrence, KS, Barb (Mark) Traxler of Mankato, Nancy Kelly of St. Bonifacius, Tom Kelly of Chanhassen, David (MaryEllen) Kelly of Falls Church, VA, Steve (Julie) Kelly of Savage, and Julie (Henry) Scanlon of St. Paul; also survived by her 21 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her sister, Grace Toegel of North Mankato; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim; parents; brothers, John, Louis, Earl, Edward, and George; and her sister, Alma.
Mary’s family would also like to thank the staff at Mayo Clinic Hospice and the Mankato Clinic for her care and the entire faith community at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
