Mary Theresa Langworthy, age 102, of Mapleton, passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 at the Mapleton Community Home.
Visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m., November 22, 2020 at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Mapleton. Private Family Mass will be held with interment in Calvary Cemetery, Mapleton. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice. Olson Tichenor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mary was born November 23, 1917 to Paul and Theresa (Frederick) Denn in Medo Township. She married Edward Langworthy on July 27, 1937 in St. Clair. Together they had 12 children. They were members of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. Mary was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with her family.
She enjoyed baking, cooking, and embroidery. She never spoke an unkind word. Mary would pray for her children and grandchildren by name each night. She had 39 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. The legacy of her kind spirit will live on through them.
Mary is survived by her children, George (Cheryl), Jim (Gloria), Bernie (Dilly), Eddie (Carla), Linda Hanson, Steve (Chris), Darrell (Ronda); son-in-law, Chuck Healy; two daughters-in-law, Barb and Dorothy; and extended family.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her children, Joan, Larry (Sharon), Eugene, Tom, Theresa Healy, and Pete Hanson; eight siblings, Jack Denn, Ollie Denn, Bert Denn, Marcella Johnston, Sister Ethel Denn, SSND, Margaret Adams, Esther Carey, and Lucille Schubbe.
