Mary Leone Williams, age 82, of Mankato passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, March 4, 2024.
Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Crystal with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Livestream of the service will be available at www.mankatomortuary.com
Mary Leone Williams was born on November 7, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN to Robert and Leone Dahl. She attended Washburn High School in Minneapolis class of 1959. She went to Gustavus Adolphus College where she studied biology and achieved her master’s degree in physical education. She helped pilot the women’s physical education program at Gustavus where she coached various sports. She was then married Thomas Williams on August 13, 1966. They then moved to St. Peter and were blessed with two children Scott and Tammy. Soon after, they relocated to their permanent home in Lake Crystal, MN - where she then began her long-time career working in the office at Crysteel Truck Equipment.
Mary was very active and enjoyed various sports including but not limited to, golf, bowling and pickleball. She was even offered an opportunity to become a professional bowler and professional golfer. She was very involved in her church and book club. Mary was very passionate in donating blood to the American Red Cross as she received multiple awards for her generosity. She was also an avid member of the Lake Crystal Rec Center where she developed many friendships that she cherished.
Mary and her brother Kirk were very close as they shared their love of books and reading. One of her favorite past times was spending time with family and friends. She was loved by many!
Mary is survived by her children, Scott (Amelia) Williams, and Tammy Rogers; grandchildren, Michael (fiancé, Angel), Kyle, Dylan, Kiana, Morgan, Madalyn, and brother, Kirk (Carla) Dahl, as well as cousins, and many friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Williams; parents, Robert and Leone Dahl; grandchildren, Joshua, and Marcus, as well as cousins.
After a long battle of Parkinson's disease, she peacefully passed away at Mayo in Mankato surrounded by her family. Never forgotten and forever loved.
