Mary K. Zimmerman

Mary Kathryn Zimmerman, age 94, of Mankato, died Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Pathstone Living in Mankato.

Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 a.m., Friday, December 9, 2022, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday.  Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.  Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. 

Mary was born November 27, 1928, to Chris and Genevieve (Hawkins) Abrahamson in Mapleton, MN.  She graduated from Mapleton High School and Mankato Commercial College.  Mary was united in marriage to Thomas “Tom” H. Zimmerman on January 9, 1951, in Mapleton.  Mary was employed by the Blue Earth County ASCS office and later as manager of the Mankato State University Bookstore until her retirement.  She enjoyed needle work, baking, playing cards, decorating for the holidays, and spending 20 years wintering in Mission, Texas.

Mary is survived by her three children, Bob (Lynn) Zimmerman of Libby, MT, Patty (Jerry) Marzinske and Sue (Dan) Goebel all of Mankato; three grandchildren, Chris Goebel, Anné (Jeffrey) Stocker, and Ben (Bree) Goebel; three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Kateri, and Isabel; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Caroline Clubine of Iowa.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; parents; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Elsie Abrahamson, Richard and Kathleen Abrahamson; infant sister, Christine; parents-in-law, Estella and Henry Zimmerman.
