Maureen was born on February 8, 1946, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to Michael and Lillian Fenrick.  She spent her grade school years in Sault St Marie, Ontario and moved with her family to Beloit, Wisconsin in 1961. After earning her doctorate in mathematics from the University of Florida and teaching at Wichita State University and Colorado College, Maureen joined the faculty of the Mathematics, Astronomy, and Physics Department at Minnesota State University Mankato in 1987.

Maureen was a brilliant mathematician and the author of the textbook “Introduction to the Galois Correspondence” which continues to be referenced today.  She was quite artistic, creating beautiful stained-glass pictures and photographs of the nature around her home on Lake Jefferson.  She loved to travel and was most proud of her trip on a scientific explorer ship to Antarctica where she got to wander amongst the penguins and seals of the continent.   She enjoyed her long walks with her dogs and spoiling her great nieces and great nephews.

Maureen is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Michael Fenrick, and her sisters-in-law, JoAnne Fenrick and Teresa Fenrick.  Maureen is survived by her brother William Fenrick (Marie Thomson) of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, her sister Nancy Fenrick (Michael Fatis) of Lake Jefferson, as well as her nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and one great-great niece.

Her family is forever grateful to the staff of Autumn Lane Memory Care of Oak Terrace in North Mankato who tendered such competent and loving care to Maureen for the past 8 years.
