Maximilian Cengiz Orient

Maximilian Cengiz Orient, age 23, currently of Mankato and formerly from Phoenix, AZ, died Saturday, January 11, 2025. 

Celebration of Max’s life will be held at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 3-5pm. The family prefers memorials be directed to tfsphx.org or soles4souls.org

Max, the middle of three children, was born February 27, 2001 in Phoenix, AZ to Robert Orient and Deniz Arik. As a child, Max was delightfully curious, inquisitive and fearless. He was an unstoppable force and so smart for his age. He spent his days playing soccer, swimming, hiking and reading book after book. Max was always laughing and making quick-witted jokes. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and those he loved. 

After graduating from high school, Max and his family moved to Mankato in 2018.

Max is survived by his dad, Rob Orient of Mankato; brother, River Arik of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Sofia Orient of Mankato; paternal grandparents, Steve and Sue Howard of Mankato; aunts, Christine “Kitty” (John Devereaux) Orient of Edina, Angela (Zach) Rice of Hanska, and Melis Arik of Bayfield, WI; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended relatives.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Deniz Sevim Arik; and maternal grandparents.
