Maxine Rose Norman, age 86, resident of rural Lake Crystal, died peacefully at home Monday, December 9, 2019.
Memorial Service Celebrating Maxine’s Life will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday December 14, 2019, at Cornerstone UMC, Lake Crystal, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday before the service. Private family interment will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
Maxine enjoyed driving her farm tractor and helped thru the spring of 2019. Her second pastime was mowing, which she seemed to do daily in the summer. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends (Very Competitive), going to the casino, and watching her favorite sports teams- Twins, Vikings, Timberwolves, and Gophers. She played softball with Linda and Deb well into her fifties. Maxine was born March 5, 1933, to Irving and Mabel (Hoeft) Partridge in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Sioux Central High School in Sioux City. She was united in marriage to Willys Norman on March 17, 1951, at their rural home in Lake Crystal, MN. She was an active member of Cornerstone UMC for 68 years and a member of the Epworth Circle.
Maxine is survived by her four children, Nancy Norman Eilola, Larry Norman, both of Lake Crystal, Linda Norman and Todd Anderson of Vernon Center and Debra Norman of Lake Crystal; four grandchildren, Brandy and Hank Graef of Shorewood, MN, Shane Reasor and Michelle Leigh of Eagle Lake, MN, Tracy Eilola of Virginia, MN, and Gwenn and Todd Wolters of Mankato; seven great-grandchildren who all live in Minnesota, Ashley Pikal of Minneapolis, Kyle Eilola and Kelly Besst of Crystal, Kayla Parker and CJ Jirovec of Chaska, Grady Wolters and Chelsey Cummings of Mankato, Logan Parker of Shorewood, Mya Wolters of Mankato and Cora Eilola Zaller of Virginia; one great-great granddaughter, Oliva Rose Windschitl of Waconia, MN; her sister, Betty Prestage of San Diego, California and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willys Norman; infant son; sister, Lois (Ray) Haarsma; brother, Ronald (Bertie) Partridge; and in laws, Verlyn Prestage, George (Florence) Norman, and Ellis (Mary Ann) Norman.
