Mike was born September 3, 1964, in Minot, North Dakota to Dennis and Marge Haga, and moved to North Mankato when he was 4 years old. He graduated from Mankato West High School in 1983. Mike became a father early in his life to Kate, Jade, and Tony, and worked hard to support his family. He established Haga Construction and Haga Properties as he became a well-known and loved contractor in Mankato. In 2013, Mike became a grandfather for the first time and as his family grew, made frequent trips to visit his grandchildren, keeping them busy with his “30-second” games.
Mike could always be found on two wheels, spending many weekends on his road bike, racing his Motocross bike, trail riding for fun, or riding his mountain bike. Just this past year, he shot a perfect score in trap shooting and was thrilled at his accomplishment. Mike has touched the lives of so many with his kindness and willingness to help others. Not only has he left us with wonderful memories and stories, but his handiwork leaves a legacy of his attention to detail and perfectionism.
Mike will be deeply missed by his parents Dennis and Marge, his children Kate (Brian) Rislow, Tony (Ashley), and Jade (Marcus) Paskel, his siblings Alan (Carol), Paula (Dean) Tibbetts, and Paul (Amy), his grandchildren Bode, Elin, Amry, Ave, Sire, and Oliver, and his girlfriend Abby, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
The family encourages/requests that you bring a written favorite memory of Mike to the service or celebration of life.
