Mildred (Millie) Hodapp Fossen

Millie Fossen, age 99, died Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Monarch Meadows Assisted Living in North Mankato.

Millie was born to Joseph Edward Hodapp and Mary (Materne) Hodapp on February 24, 1922, in rural Madison Lake, and has lived in the Mankato area her entire life. She was married to Clifton A. Fossen on September 25, 1948, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Mankato.

Millie is survived by her two children, Arnold Fossen of Mankato, and Bonita (Mike) Ashmore of Maple Grove, MN; grandchildren, Adam (Mia) Ashmore of Bozeman, MT and Allison (Matt) Deal of Plymouth, MN; and great-grandchildren, Neveila Ashmore of Bozeman, MT and Ava Deal of Plymouth, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2008; four brothers, Cletus, Alfred, Dennis, and Earl; and one sister, Dorothy Sohler.

Visitation will be held from 5-7pm, Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Mankato Mortuary. There will subsequently be a family burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
