Nancy Lenore Marquardt

Nancy L. Marquardt, age 86, of North Mankato, died on August 16, 2020 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living.

A short Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 21 at 11:30 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.  Northview-North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are preferred to Dementia Society of America.

Nancy was born on April 28, 1934 in Mankato to Anthony and Marjorie (Duffield) Smetana.  She graduated from Good Counsel Academy in Mankato.  On June 18, 1955, Nancy was united in marriage to Orval Marquardt at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, North Mankato.  She was the Avon District Manager for Southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa.  Nancy played the trumpet through high school and played the organ as an adult.  Nancy loved to travel and play board games with family and friends.  She was an avid reader of books and loved to bake cookies, especially during the holidays.

Nancy is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (Jill) Marquardt of North Mankato, Joel (Loree) Marquardt of Anaheim, CA, Gregg Marquardt of North Mankato, James Marquardt of North Mankato, and Scott Marquardt of St. Paul; grandchildren, April (Justin) Doering, Alicia (Brandon) Macemon, Kimberly (Daniel) Peterson, Neil Marquardt, and Joseph Marquardt; and great-grandchildren, Bella and Faith Macemon, Lorelai, Miranda, and Kaden Peterson.  Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orval; and step-sister, Bonnie Duffield.
