Neil R. Prescher

Neil R. Prescher, age 74, of Mankato, died on October 13, 2019 at Water’s Edge.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Visitation will start at 12:30 p.m. at the church prior to the service.  Burial with military honors will be at Calvary Cemetery.  Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Neil was born on November 7, 1944 in Albert Lea, MN to Roscoe and Pearl (Monson) Prescher.  He graduated from Minnesota Lake High School and Mankato State University.  Neil served in the United States Army.  He was united in marriage to Kathleen Julian and they were married for 27 years.  Neil worked in agricultural sales for many years.  Neil enjoyed driving, dancing and music, playing cards, and fishing.  His huge laugh and wonderful sense of humor made everyone laugh with him. He would light up any room he entered. He loved life, loved his family, and loved his friends.

Neil is survived by his four children, Chris (Kay) Prescher, Nicole (Joel) Boyum, Emily (Mike) Hansen, and Catherine Prescher; grandchildren, Abigail, Jack, Mitchell, Julianna, Charlie, and Hazel; brother, Loren (Barb) Prescher; and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, LeAnn Amundson; and favorite brother-in-law, Lloyd Amundson.
