Ora Mae Doyen, age 92, of Good Thunder, died on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Mapleton Community Home.
Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Good Thunder. Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church and continue at the church for one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be at Barnard Valley View Cemetery, Good Thunder. The service will be livestreamed and available below. Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Good Thunder or donor’s choice.
Ora Mae, the daughter of Leslie and Martha (Schulte) Lotton, was born on December 9, 1930 in Mankato. Ora was united in marriage to Raymond Doyen on August 28, 1951 at SS Peter and Paul Parish House in Mankato. They farmed and raised cattle and hogs in Lyra Township, Blue Earth Co. while raising six children. Ora was a dedicated member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Good Thunder and the Council of Catholic Women. She participated in a Tuesday morning Bible Study, a Friday morning Word Service and lovingly cared for the altar at St. Joseph Church for many years. Ora enjoyed bowling, baking, and making lots of apple butter & bars when the apples were in season. She was a very generous person with her time, talents and love. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by six children, Tom (Mary) Doyen, Richard (Jayne) Doyen, Mike (Karen) Doyen, Mary (Gary) Barnard, Kevin (Jenny) Doyen, and Ann (Kevin) Stiffler; 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond in 2011; and siblings, Loretta (Charles) Coult, Ralph (Clara) Lotton, Irene (Jack) Hanson, Mildred Lotton, Cyril Lotton, Roy (Naomi) Lotton, and Robert (Thelma) Lotton; and an infant great grandson, Evan Barnard.
