Palm Lynn Secott

Palm Lynn Hostetter Secott (Lynn), age 70, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 11, 2024 in her home in Mankato. Lynn was born October 13, 1954 in Lebanon, PA to Rena Mae (Blouch) and H. Clair Hostetter. After graduating Camp Hill High School, she earned her AA in Business Administration. She first worked in furniture sales and office design with Phillips Office Products in Harrisburg, PA. She and her family left PA in 1998 and moved to West Lafayette, IN, where her husband began graduate studies at Purdue University. Upon his completion, the family moved to Mankato in 2003, where her husband joined the Biology faculty at Minnesota State, Mankato, and Lynn began a 20-year career working for REM Heartland and Harry Meyering Center to serve vulnerable adults.

Lynn was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, an enthusiastic supporter of the local music scene in Mankato, and a deeply devoted lover of animals, particularly dogs. She was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her husband of 41years, Tim; her sons, Dane (Amy) Secott and Ian Secott; and her brother, Todd (Elena) Hostetter. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Elyzah and Liam (Ian and Jordyn Erickson) and Savannah, Owen, Natalie, and Katie (Dane and Amy).

Visitation will be held at 10AM Saturday, November 23, 2024 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 302 Warren St. in Mankato, with services following at 11AM. A reception will be held at the Loose Moose Saloon and Conference Center, 119 S. Front St, Mankato from noon to 3PM. Because Lynn ardently supported animal rescue, the family requests that donations on Lynn’s behalf be made to For Pets, 1326 North Sixth Street, Mankato, MN 56001 in lieu of flowers.
