Pamela Sue Murphy, age 61, of North Mankato, died at her home on Sunday, May 23, 2021.
Pamela was born October 24, 1959 in Billings, Montana to Thomas and Patricia (Lund) Gisborne. She graduated from Eden Prairie High School in 1976 at the age of 17. Pamela studied at the University of Minnesota, Duluth before transferring to the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. On May 24, 1985, she was united in marriage to Mark Murphy at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato. They were blessed with three children, Dan, Jacque, and Alex, who were her pride and joy.
Whether it was hosting holidays, entertaining over a meal, or socializing at the YMCA, she enjoyed being in the company of family and friends. Pamela also loved reading, traveling, and floating in the pool.
She cared about everyone she met with a warm and profound compassion. Those that knew her best described as the person who would drop everything for the ones she loved.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Murphy of North Mankato; children, Dr. Daniel (Colleen) Murphy of Golden Valley, Jacqueline (James) Nielsen of White Bear Lake, and Alex Murphy of Minneapolis; and four siblings.
Pamela was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior. Her burial at Calvary Cemetery will follow the mass. A celebration of Pamela’s life will continue at Pappageorge Restaurant & Bar at noon.
