Patricia Anne “Pat” Rheaume, age 88, of Mankato, died Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Laurels Edge Assisted Living in Mankato.

 

Memorial service will be held at 2pm, Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary with visitation starting at noon. Private family burial will be held at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Please share a memory of Pat with her family at www.mankatomortuary.com.

 

Patricia was born October 20, 1931 to Clayton and Irene (Boettcher) Scheffert on the family farm in Le Center. She graduated from McKinley High School in Le Center in 1950. Pat was united in marriage to Robert “Pierre” Rheaume, Sr. in November 20, 1950. As newlyweds, they lived in New Ulm for a short time before relocating to Mankato.


Pat worked as a bookkeeper at Meyer & Sons for 40 years. She enjoyed playing bridge and having lunch with her girlfriends, nicknamed “The Fab Four.” Pat also loved traveling, supporting the VFW and the troops, and watching the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. Above all, Patricia’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She served as VFW district president, VFW auxiliary president, and VFW auxiliary treasurer for many years.

 

Patricia is survived by her children, Charles of North Mankato, Robert “Bob” (Jani) of Gainesville, GA, Greg (Kim) of Mankato, and Connie of Mankato; grandchildren, Nicole (Bruce) Merrifield of Edmond, OK, Melanie (Ryan) Thielges of Lake Crystal, and John (fiancée Heather Blaschko) Rheaume of Mankato; great-grandchildren, Ava, Bella, and Jacob; siblings, James (Myrna) Scheffert of Le Center, Kathleen Deno of Bryan, TX, Sharon Traxler of San Diego, CA, and Judy VanHaaften of Burnsville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

 

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brothers, Keith and Joel; and numerous in-laws and extended family.
