Paul Douglas Lamoureux, age 80, died peacefully Saturday June 15, 2024 at New Perspective Senior Living in Mankato, MN.
A memorial service will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 1:30 p.m.
Paul was born in Burlington, Vermont to Doris and Lucien Lamoureux. Paul was the first born of seven children and grew up in Berlin, NH. He enjoyed summers with his family at Akers Pond in Errol, NH and it was there that he met his sweetheart, Cheryl Ordway. They married on Feb 6, 1965. Paul served his country during the Vietnam war. He enrolled in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Fulda, Germany. When he returned to the United States, he continued his education with degrees from the University of New Hampshire and the University of Maine.
Paul worked as a teacher and principal in Gorham, NH for many years. He also worked as an administrator in various capacities until he was called to the ministry. He attended and graduated from Luther Northwestern Seminary in St. Paul, MN. He went on to serve various Lutheran ELCA churches in New York and New Hampshire until his retirement.
Paul was a kind man who not only put his family first but cared about everyone he met. He was an example of how to treat others and serve the Lord and his community. He was a great husband, father, brother and grandfather. As a man of faith, he will reunite with his loved ones and friends who have gone before him.
Paul is survived by his wife of 59 years, Cheryl; children Kristi (Tim) Krengel, Doug (Sally) Lamoureux; eight grandchildren, Zach Krengel, Kaleb Krengel, Nicole Hunt, Katherine Lamoureux, Elizabeth Lamoureux, Charlie Lamoureux, Cody Froman, William Froman, brothers; Michael (Jackie) Lamoureux, David (Louise) Lamoureux, sister; Elaine Botelho and sister-in-law Linda (Ron) Chaisson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucien and Doris Lamoureux; sibling's Ray Lamoureux, Mary Bent White, Janet Partridge, and infant granddaughter Hannah Lee Krengel
